Congratulations Freddie! Shropshire Apprentice of the Year Finalist

We’re delighted to share that Freddie Foster, one of our talented apprentices, has been shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year – IT and Digital Industries category at the Shropshire Apprenticeship Awards 2025, sponsored by Purple Frog Systems.

This shortlisting is not only a reflection of Freddie’s hard work and dedication, but also of the supportive partnership between Connexis and Telford College.

When we asked Freddie what being shortlisted meant to him, he told us:

“It is a privilege to be shortlisted and goes to show my hard work is paying off.”

Freddie joined Connexis as an apprentice to gain both hands-on experience and formal qualifications. He explained:

“To me, it seemed like the obvious choice. Learning whilst working helps enhance both my practical and theoretical skills whilst gaining a qualification.”

So far, his journey has been a rewarding one:

“It’s been good so far and I’ve been enjoying it. I’m learning something new every day.”

We were proud to be named Apprentice Employer of the Year (Small Business) in 2024, and having Freddie recognised this year highlights just how valuable these programmes are for both individuals and businesses.

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 2 October 2025.
